10th Anniversary Special Edition Reader's Choice Survey
Study & Scrutiny: Research on Young Adult Literature is turning ten this year, and to celebrate this accomplishment we are putting together a special tenth anniversary issue of the journal. This special edition will include reprintings of past Study & Scrutiny articles, with new introductions and commentary from the authors, and a new interview with Ashley Boyd. These reprintings will include editor’s choice articles such as Ashley Boyd and Summer Pennell’s “Batteries, Big Red, and Busses: Using Critical Theory to Read for Social Class in Eleanor & Park”, Sean Connors’s “‘I Have a Kind of Power I Never Knew I Possessed’: Surveillance, Agency, and the Possibility of Resistance in YA Dystopian Fiction”, Michael Domínguez and Alice Domínguez’s “Playing Past Racial Silence Cultivating Conversations on Racial Identity through Sports-Related Young Adult Literature”, David E. Low and Francisco L. Torres’s “Comics as Literary Compasses and Kaleidoscopes A Pedagogical Essay in Fragments”, Linda T. Parson’s “Cinderella’s Transformation From Patriarchal to 21st Century Expressions of Femininity”, and Rodrigo Joseph Rodriguez’s “‘A riot in the heart’: A Conversation with Author Benjamin Alire Sáenz”. However, we also seek to include articles chosen by our readership. Please help us celebrate by completing this reader’s choice survey and letting us know which articles you would like to see reprinted in our special anniversary issue this coming spring.
